FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Gov. Ron DeSantis decried Massachusetts’ housing of migrants in local hotels as fans reportedly struggle to find rooms to stay in for the upcoming Army-Navy game.

“An increase in migrant families coming to Massachusetts has driven a surge in the number of homeless families being sheltered in hotels across the region,” it was reported by local outlet WCVB.

The Boston Herald reported that the Army-Navy game, which is taking place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Dec. 9, has become a “cluster” because of migrants occupying large amounts of hotel rooms.

Notably, “scores” of military Veterans and service academy graduates are having difficulty in finding rooms.

“Our veterans and service academy graduates cannot find anywhere to stay for the Army-Navy Game because hotels are housing illegal aliens on the taxpayers’ dime,” DeSantis said. “What a farce.”

“When I am president, the days of putting illegals aliens over Americans will be over,” he said.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency in August over an influx of migrants.

“In recent months, demand has increased to levels that our emergency shelter system cannot keep up with, especially as the number of families leaving shelter has dwindled due to a lack of affordable housing options and barriers to securing work,” the New England governor said.

“I am declaring a state of emergency in Massachusetts and urging my partners in the federal government to take the action we need to address this crisis by streamlining the work authorization process and passing comprehensive immigration reform.”

DeSantis has dubbed the large influx of migrants at the southern border with Mexico as President Joe “Biden’s Border Crisis” and recently unveiled a plan to end the crisis if he becomes president in 2025.

“It’s going to require a lot of effort, it’s going to require us to lean in,” DeSantis most recently said, vowing to deport millions of illegal aliens.

“We’re going to get the job done, but I definitely think the people that are coming over, kind of last one in, first one out,” he said.

DeSantis has taken a strong approach to the concerns about illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The governor outlined his plans of combatting the flow of migrants during a visit to Texas in June.

“What I’ve seen at the border is just humiliating as a country – that we can’t even enforce the territorial integrity of this nation,” DeSantis said during an event there.

“When we go in on day one, we’re going to marshal every bit of authority that we have, will work with Congress when we need to, we’ll take executive action when we can, and it will be a day one priority,” he added.
