TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – Brendan Farrington from the Associated Press (AP) published a viral article that claimed a new bill touted by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) would “shield whites from ‘discomfort’ of racist past.”

In reality, the bill will ensure that no one of any race is taught in employee training or in education that, solely based on the virtue of their race, they are racist.

Additionally, the article originally claimed that DeSantis’ office did not respond to a request for comment:

In reality, DeSantis Communications Director Taryn Fenske did respond:

The story no longer claims that DeSantis’ office did not respond. The AP updated the article and did not mark what they originally claimed, running contrary to journalistic integrity standards of informing readers when a piece of information was incorrect.
