“Over the past couple of years we were dealing with some out there saying we should defund the police and that we should cut law enforcement,” Yarborough told Florida’s Voice. “But in reality that hurts everybody.”

Yarborough’s advertisement focused on his support for the Parental Rights in Education law, bonuses to recruit law enforcement, and approving the state’s largest tax relief package.

Yarborough said one of his main priorities in the state legislature would be presenting technical education opportunities to students before they leave high school.

“We need to ensure our high school students, as they’re coming out of school, know the ‘full menu,’ so to speak, that’s available to them,” Yarborough said.

Since filing for re-election in 2021, Yarborough raised $307,000 while his democrat opponent raised $250. Yarborough was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016.
