TAMPA, Fla. – The American Conservation Coalition and the Tampa Bay Young Republicans are set to host a park cleanup day on April 20.

The effort is to help the coalition, known as ACC, with the challenge to “Clean Up America” on Earth Day.

  • When: April 20 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Where: Cypress Point Park – 5620 Cypress St., Tampa, Florida 33607.

The ACC is a conservation group focused on protecting the United States’ natural resources.

ACC Florida State Director Danielle Lindsay told Florida’s Voice about the group’s work to reshape the way Americans view environmental issues, during an interview at the Florida Young Republicans’ 2024 State Convention.

“We are focused on grassroots action, just getting people out in nature and showing people why they should love, not only America, but the earth that they live on,” she said.

“We really focus on reaching across both sides of the aisle to bring people together in a bipartisan way,” she added. “Because both sides, both political parties, should care about conservation.”

Lindsay said that the organization is focused on multiple projects in the state, including oyster reef restoration on Florida’s Space Coast and water quality issues in central Florida.

“A lot of grassroots action, getting out there, bringing people together like the young Republicans,” she said. “We love getting the Young Republicans out and getting them on cleanups and just getting out in nature and making it beautiful for everyone.”
