FORT WALTON BEACH (FLV) – The Democratic Black Caucus of Florida and the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida endorsed Nikki Fried to be Florida’s next Governor.

Nikki Fried currently serves as the Commissioner of Agriculture for Florida and faces Democrat U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist and State Senator Annette Taddeo for the Democratic nomination.

The feud between Fried and Crist continues as the primary election approaches on August 23rd. Fried threw shade on Crist for not showing up to the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida 2022 Gubernatorial Forum Saturday.

Fried posted a video of a member of the Black Caucus calling out Crist for not arriving at the forum that “he confirmed” he would attend.

“Where are you Congressman? This is an important meeting,” the caucus member said in the video.

Crist’s campaign manager and deputy manager said at the event he could not make it due to a “personal commitment.”

RealClearPolitics polling average shows Crist leading Fried by 19.3 points. The polls show Crist with 41% of the vote, Fried at 21.7% and Taddeo with 4%.

RealClearPolitics average polling data shows Gov. Ron DeSantis beating Crist by 8.8 points and DeSantis topping Fried by 12.8 points.
