TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis expressed his support for the U.S. House’s impeachment inquiry on President Joe Biden during an interview with Fox News.

“This family is potentially the most corrupt presidential family in history,” he said. “Joe Biden has already lied about the business dealings.”

“We now see a quarter of a million dollars going to Biden’s address from China,” he added.

DeSantis also commented on the crisis at the southern border and Biden’s lack of action to prevent illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

“He took an oath to support and defend the constitution, make sure that the laws are faithfully executed,” he said. “And he has absolutely defaulted on that obligation.”

“This corruption is real. They need to produce the goods of course, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” DeSantis said.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., announced the launch of an impeachment inquiry on Sept. 14, after pressure from fellow Republicans such as Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz.

McCarthy explained that during the weeks that Congress was away from Washington, House Republicans uncovered “serious and credible allegations”

“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption, and they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives,” McCarthy said.

He described the impeachment inquiry as the “logical next step” in gathering all of the facts and answers for the American people.
