FORT WALTON BEACH (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’ reelection campaign launched new merchandise based off the new movie Top Gun: Maverick.

The DeSantis campaign now sells T-shirts, posters, and beverage coolers that say “Top Gov” featuring DeSantis’ face. The products also write “Florida: America’s Freedom Zone.”

The campaign website says “show your support for DeSantis’s freedom first mission.”

DeSantis talked with the crowd at a Fort Walton Beach press conference last week about the new movie.

“Now everyone’s gone so crazy about the newest iteration of top gun. People want to go see,” DeSantis said. “I have not seen it. I’ve heard really good things about it. Has anybody seen it?”

The Governor was met with cheers from audience members.

“I do want to see it at some point,” DeSantis said. “Any movie that’s not like overwhelming woke can actually appeal to normal people.”

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick broke the $700 million mark and raised $747 million.
