MARTHA’S VINEYARD (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis reportedly sent two planes of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday.

Fox News Digital obtained video showing migrants leaving planes at Martha’s Vineyard Airport in Massachusetts, which the governor’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, confirmed “were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” Fenske told Fox News Digital.

The office of Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said that the arrivals were provided short-term shelter.

“The Baker-Polito Administration is in touch with local officials regarding the arrival of migrants in Martha’s Vineyard,” Terry MacCormack, Baker’s press secretary, told Fox. “At this time, short-term shelter services are being provided by local officials, and the Administration will continue to support those efforts.”

The Florida legislature approved $12 million to help transport illegal immigrants from the state, the governor’s office said. Fenske added that the program targets human smugglers and also preempts others from arriving illegally.

DeSantis had previously said he would reroute illegal immigrants in Florida to President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware if they are bused to Florida.

“If there is a big movement of them then you can stop them at the interstate and then you can reroute. We want to reroute to Delaware,” DeSantis said in April. “We think that is appropriate to be able to do.”
