TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – The DeSantis campaign launched the “DeSantis War Room” Twitter account to fight off attacks on Gov. Ron DeSantis as he runs for re-election.

“Follow us for rapid response to attacks on @RonDeSantisFL from legacy media and left-wing extremists (yes, that’s redundant),” the account’s Twitter bio said.

The account was launched less than 24 hours after Charlie Crist became the Democrat gubernatorial candidate to face DeSantis in November.

DeSantis’ former press secretary, Christina Pushaw, is now the Rapid Response Director for the governor’s campaign team.

“Wow, thanks so much to everyone who has followed @DeSantisWarRoom so far!” Pushaw said. “Great to see our team’s videos are resonating. War Room is pushing back on Charlie Crist & his allies in politics & media.”

The DeSantis War Room Twitter account so far has put together a compilation of videos attacking Crist shortly after he makes comments on live television or through other mediums.

Charlie Crist Calls DeSantis Voters ‘Haters’: ‘Vote for Him. I Don’t Want Your Vote.’

For example, one video responds to Charlie Crist calling supporters of DeSantis “haters” who should stick with DeSantis.

“Those who support the governor should stay with him and vote for him and I don’t want your vote,” Crist said. “If you have that hate in your heart, keep it there. I want the vote of the people of Florida who care about our state – good Democrats, good Independents, good Republicans.”

The new Twitter account published a video of Crist’s comment and added short videos from Floridians telling Crist they “have love for people.”

“Charlie Crist, I don’t have hate in my heart. I’m just fortunate to live in the great state of Florida where I was able to work throughout the pandemic,” one Floridian said.
