Sabatini protest

TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Florida’s Voice obtained pictures providing a glimpse into Anthony Sabatini’s past as a Democrat, leading protests with a socialist group and advocating that college tuition was a “right.”

Sabatini is a former Howey-in-the-Hills State House member who served as a Republican in office from 2018 to 2022. However, the 34-year-old previously was a Democrat during his college years at the University of Florida.

One of the pictures shows Sabatini in college protesting with International Socialist Organization (ISO) members as they compare police officers to the KKK.

“Killer Kampus Kops?” one sign says while the other displays a socialist group logo.

His fellow classmates told Florida’s Voice that Sabatini would frequently advocate for free college tuition for all. The picture says it all- Sabatini holds a sign saying “education is a right.”

Sabatini has claimed to be a MAGA warrior. But a source texted me this:

“He once said in front of me at the Amp fest that he wasn’t running to truly change anything, it was to gain clout to then go home and start a business helping others win elections and get rich doing it.”

And if you dig a little bit deeper, you will find something that looks fishy going on with his FEC filings. Sabatini spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of campaign donations on his personal credit cards, expensive hotels, flights and food traveling the country. Even though he was running for office in Florida’s 7th Congressional District.

So it begs the question: is Sabatini a New York Democrat who switched to be a Republican so that he could focus on dividing the party? While at the same time simultaneously cash in on hundreds of thousands of dollars from campaign donations.

Grifter and/or plant?
