WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – At a press conference where Gov. Ron DeSantis signed anti-illegal immigration bills Friday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody had a message directly for President Joe Biden on handling the border crisis.

“As a wife of a law enforcement officer, I plead directly to our president,” she said. “Put down the ice cream cone, pay attention and let’s save lives.”

“I don’t mean to make light of this, but put down whatever you are doing,” the attorney general said. “This is not a partisan issue. These are people that are coming together, and communities that have lost loved ones, that are feeling the dangerous effects directly a result of your decisions as to the security of this country.”

“Pay attention. Reverse course. Secure this border,” she said. “Listen to the director of the FBI, listen to the families that have lost loved ones. Listen to the Floridians who want safe communities and have to rely on a state government to defend borders when that is the responsibility of the president of the United States.”

Moody went on to thank DeSantis for current and past actions targeting illegal aliens.
