TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida emerged victorious as part of an ongoing legal battle with the Biden administration over the crisis on the southern border with Mexico.

Florida is challenging the federal government’s parole policies permitting the release of thousands of illegal migrants that would otherwise not be in the country.

The ruling out of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida noted that if the policies were not previously enjoined, there would “likely be hundreds of thousands more aliens in the country on ‘parole’ but not in any sort of immigration proceedings.”

It also found that there was a strong likelihood the Biden administration’s policies “would have further exacerbated the harm to Florida.”

Because of this, the court found that Florida has standing under the U.S. Constitution to challenge President Joe Biden’s parole policies regarding immigration.

“We are pleased that the court, yet again, found that Biden’s illegal policies are causing harm to the state of Florida, and we look forward to defending our victory in the appellate court,” Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said Tuesday.

Moody has been suing the Biden administration since it began in 2021.

Last year, Moody filed a lawsuit again targeting Biden’s border policies and aimed to prevent a “mass-release” of migrants into the U.S.
