TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Senate President Wilton Simpson endorsed State Sen. Kelli Stargel to represent Congressional District 15.

“Kelli Stargel has been a conservative hero, standing up for our values and leading the fight to protect the unborn,” Simpson said. “Kelli has taken on Democrats in Tallahassee to protect girls’ sports, keep gender ideology out of our classrooms and stood firm when ideologues attacked parents’ rights to make decisions for their children.”

Stargel was the senate sponsor for the new Florida law that bans abortions after 15 weeks. The senator supported keeping the state’s economy open during the pandemic, fought against masking children, and carried legislation to keep biological males out of women’s sports.

“Kelli is a fiscal conservative, who balanced our state budget while prioritizing public safety, world class education opportunities and conservation of our natural resources. I’m proud to endorse Kelli Stargel for Congress, because she is the conservative hero Floridians need to take a stand for our families and battle Washington’s economic ignorance,” Simpson said.

Stargel faces a crowded field of Republicans in the race to represent Congressional District 15. Rep. Jackie Toledo, former U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, Jay Collins, Jerry Torres, Demetries Grimes, Kevin John McGovern, Wendy Schmeling, and former Secretary of State Laurel Lee have announced they will run for the seat.
