WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – The House Oversight Committee is set to hold a hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, UAPs, and Unidentified Flying Objects, UFOs, on July 26, as confirmed by Reps. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., and Tim Burchett, R-Tenn.

The recent announcement comes amidst increasing interest from Congress and the public in investigating UAPs and UFOs.

While no further details have been provided yet, some committee members are expected to hold a news conference on Wednesday to shed more light on the upcoming hearing.

Luna and Burchett have been leading the efforts to arrange these hearings on the intriguing and mysterious topic.

John Kirby, the National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications, confirmed that UAPs are considered a legitimate concern for the Biden administration.

“We’re not saying what they are, what they’re not. We’re saying that there’s something our pilots are seeing,” Kirby said. “We’re saying it has had an effect on some of our training operations. And so, we want to get to the bottom of it, we want to understand it better.”

The impact of UAPs on pilot training ranges has been a major driving force behind the government’s interest in understanding these phenomena.

Kirby further emphasized that the administration aims to be transparent with Congress and the American people while considering national security concerns.

Recent claims made by David Grusch, a former member of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, have added momentum to the push for investigating UFOs.

Grusch spoke to investigative journalist Ross Coulthart on NewsNation about his time in Congress’ Unidentified Aerial Phenomena task force, now known as the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office or AARO.

Grusch alleged among other things that the U.S. government has been engaged in “disinformation” against the American public in an effort to conceal the reverse engineering of “exotic spacecraft” for decades.

While the Pentagon has stated that there is no information substantiating claims of past or current programs related to the possession or reverse engineering of extraterrestrial materials, the upcoming hearing reflects the desire for further transparency and investigation into UAPs and UFOs.
