“From our beaches to our fisheries, our water quality is tied to our prosperity. That’s why Governor DeSantis secured a record $3.3 billion to restore the Everglades after years of neglect, advanced reservoir projects to clean the water, restored the flow of water to Florida Bay, and protected Biscayne Bay,” said the ad.

DeSantis pledged to secure $2.5 billion over four years for Everglades restoration and protection of water resources, and he surpassed this goal by $800 million, for a total of $3.3 billion over four years.

“The health of the Everglades, Florida’s springs, and so many other resources are the foundation of our communities and economy and play an important role in the everyday lives of Floridians,” DeSantis previously said.

The governor earned an endorsement from The Everglades Trust for his re-election campaign and in 2018.

Another television ad paid for by the Republican Party of Florida said Crist approved the largest tax increase in Florida while DeSantis enacted the state’s largest tax relief package.

DeSantis will face off against Democrat gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist in the Nov. 8 midterm election.

It was previously reported that DeSantis surpassed the gubernatorial fundraising record in September.

According to recent polls, the Republican is continuing to expand his lead over Democrat Charlie Crist.
