ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FLV) – Parents are “mortified” after learning schools reported that “Assassination Classroom” books by Yusei Matsui have been found at their schools, which center around students attempting to “kill their alien teacher.”

Lake Nona High School in Orlando found a copy of Volume 1, while Volumes 11, 19 and 21 were found in Gifford Middle School in Vero Beach.

Jennifer Pippin, chairman of the Indian River County Chapter of Moms for Liberty, filed a challenge for the series in Indian River County.

“I was mortified when I found these titles in one of our middle schools,” Pippin said.

On Volume 19’s Amazon listing, the description said, “Ever caught yourself screaming, ‘I could just kill that teacher?'”

“I’m kind of upset that, why would a media center specialist put this on the shelves? And even if they didn’t know the content, why the title would not maybe be a red flag to look into the material and see what is in this book called ‘Assassination Classroom?'” Pippin said.

Volume 1 is described as, “a group of students attempt to kill their alien teacher who is teaching them how to become assassins,” according to BookLooks.

BookLooks warns the Volume 1 book contains “explicit violence, mild profanity, and sexual activities.”

In Orange County, the status of Volume 1 book is listed as “review in progress” according to the district’s requests for reconsideration document.

The unidentified person who submitted the reconsideration form listed objectionable scenes including the phrases, “assassinate your teacher,” “okay someone please hand me a gun that’s loaded,” “killing time in homeroom” and “I’ve been wanting to kill a teacher.”

One image depicts a classroom full of young students shown with guns aimed toward the front of the classroom.

Another illustration on this page depicts several students with guns aimed toward a teacher in the front of the room. The teacher is an alien wearing a cap and gown.

“Class 1: Killing Time in Homeroom” is written on the page.

On another page, BookLooks describes the illustration depicting “a young woman in an upper thigh length dress with a small holster strapped to her left upper thigh. She appears to be straddling a man’s pelvis.”

The website said Volume 11 is about how “a class of misfits attempt to kill their alien teacher while playing games.”

“The illustration on top of this page depicts a man standing in the middle of a room. He is surrounded by men lying in various poses with pools and splatters of blood around them,” the BookLooks report said.

In March, Fox News reported the series was pulled from a public school district in Wisconsin.

“I just hope that they do get removed from children’s classrooms, you know, across the country, and children’s school libraries across the country so children don’t think that this is okay to kill their teachers, or do these things that are in these books,” Pippin said.
