TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Mainstream news outlet POLITICO reported that a “consultant” has been made aware that Gov. Ron DeSantis views Jan. 6th hearings conducted by Democrats “as a way to eventually get Trump indicted.”

POLITICO pits DeSantis as aiming to compete with former President Donald Trump:

Another Republican consultant familiar with DeSantis’ thinking says the governor views the Jan. 6 hearings as a way to eventually get Trump indicted.

“That’s where his head is at. He thinks the goal here is to get Main Justice to go after him,” the consultant said. “That’s what Ron thinks this is all about.”’

The person, however, stressed that DeSantis’ focus is much more on running up the score in his reelection bid. DeSantis, who is already on pace to break state-level Florida fundraising records and is seen as a heavy favorite to win reelection, wants to win by more than the 3.2 points Trump won the state by in 2020. POLITICO reported last week that DeSantis also has no interest in seeking Trump’s endorsement for his reelection bid, another signal he does not see his political fate tethered to the former president who helped make him.

“Trump fatigue sets in: ‘Some donors are getting sick of the sh–show,'” POLITICO

DeSantis’ campaign told Florida’s Voice that POLICO’s report about the Governor’s thinking is false.

“The hearings are a total circus meant to distract from Biden’s failures,” they said. “Quoting unnamed sources to detail the Governor’s thinking when he has clearly stated that this is a farce is a predictable tactic from POLITICO and the corporate media.”

This is another embarrassing effort to distract from Democrat failures,” they continued.

Trump Calls Reports of Feud with DeSantis “Fake News”

In January, Trump told Fox News that the reported feud between him and the Florida governor is “totally fake news.”

“I get along great with Ron, Ron was very good on the Mueller hoax, he was right up front … they were fantastic,” he said.

You’re going to see the D.C., New York media, I mean, this is their Christmas, Jan. 6, OK. They are going to take this and milk this for anything they could to try to be able to smear anyone who ever supported Donald Trump.

DeSantis has been strongly opposed to the Jan. 6th hearings, saying, “The D.C./New York Media, they live in a bubble. They do not care about any of us out here in other parts, and they think that this is the most important thing.”

“Why weren’t they doing hearings about more energy. Why aren’t they doing hearings on inflation? Why are they constantly beating this dead horse? Yes, we understand that, that was a year and a half ago – let’s focus on things that are concerning American people today.”

DeSantis DESTROYS Trump-Rift Narrative

This Feb., DeSantis told Fox News that Trump is “a friend of mine” and someone who “appreciate the job that we’ve done.”

“He’s done a really terrific job in Florida,” Trump said of the Florida governor.
