Power, Ziegler rack up more endorsements ahead of chairman vote

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Chair of Leon County Republican Party Evan Power and current state GOP Vice Chairman Christian Ziegler received additional endorsements in their bids for chairman of the Florida Republican Party.

Conservative Activist Rogan O’Handley, also known as DC Draino, and Reps. Byron Donalds Vern and Buchanan announced their endorsements for Ziegler.

Chairman of Jackson County Republican Executive Committee Clint Pate and Sen. Corey Simon announced their endorsements for Power.

“I’ve known @ChrisMZiegler for years and he is one of the most patriotic, principled, and passionate Republican leaders in the Free State of Florida,” Draino said on Twitter. “I fully support and endorse his run for Chairman of the Florida GOP!”

Ziegler shared his appreciation for Draino’s endorsement.

“BIG ENDORSEMENT – It’s difficult to find a louder voice for the Conservative Cause than @DC_Draino.”

Donalds “joined team Ziegler” and the candidate credited Donalds as one of “our greatest Conservative Fighters.”

Buchanan announced his endorsement for Ziegler where he started on his campaigns by working on Buchanan’s 2006 congressional campaign.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced her endorsement for Ziegler and he shared his excitement on Twitter about it and referred to Luna as an “absolute ROCKSTAR” for the Republican Party.

Congresswoman Kat Cammack, R-District 3, announced her endorsement for Ziegler and the candidate said she “understands the importance of protecting American Dream.”

Rep. Cory Mills shared his endorsement for Ziegler and the candidate pointed to Mills’ serving the country in the U.S. army.

Rep. Greg Steube announced his endorsement for Ziegler and the candidate said there’s no “greater advocate” for the Second Amendment in congress than Steube.

Congressman Michael Waltz, R-District 6, announced his endorsement for Ziegler and the candidate referred to Waltz as a “WARRIOR for the Conservative Cause.”

Ziegler said he is a firm believer in the U.S. Constitution, limited government, less taxes, individual freedom and responsibility, free enterprise, and family values.

He said on his list going forward, the GOP needs to focus on local races, unite as a party and provide a supporting role for Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Pate announced his endorsement for Power. The candidate said he is “honored” to have his support.

Simon said Power’s willingness to “fight and win” makes him an “excellent” candidate for chairman.

“We flipped SD3 in a hard fight against an entrenched incumbent in a blue district last year. Evan was an important fighter in this battle. Evan’s willingness to fight and win in challenging districts make him an excellent candidate for Chairman and has my endorsement,” Simon said.

U.S. Congressman Dr. Neal Dunn, R-Washington, D.C., announced his endorsement for Power and the candidate said he is “honored” to have Dunn’s support.

Florida State University College Republicans gave Power their endorsement for Power and the candidate thanked them for “putting their trust” in him to lead.

Power said he has a plan to bolster the party and continue to build infrastructure so that “we can be prepared for elections when Governor DeSantis isn’t leading our ticket – so that we can have successes continue.”

On his to-do list, he said they must continue raising money for the party, build infrastructure, increase training, equip precinct committeemen and women to work their precincts, and increase Republican turnout in the years to come.

The party will meet on Saturday, Feb. 18 to vote for the next chairman.
