TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Professional Firefighters, a union representing 28,000 firefighters and paramedics, endorsed Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, in his bid for the Florida Senate.

The organization is primarily involved in the Brevard County, Melbourne, Palm Bay, Cocoa ,Titusville, Rockledge, and Cocoa Beach fire departments.

“Our firefighters protect us; I could not be more honored by their support,” Fine said. “For eight years, I have worked to make sure that Florida puts First Responders first. During my time in the Senate, I will keep advancing policies that ensures they can keep us safe.”

Fine is running to represent District 19.

Fine has recently collected several endorsements from prominent figures, including U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson and state Sen. Erin Grall, R-Fort Pierce.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Fine earlier on, following the representative’s open support for him in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

“Florida State Rep. Randy Fine is a MAGA Warrior who will stand up to anyone to advance the America First agenda!” Trump said. “One of our only elected Jewish Republicans, he stands with me for an America that brings Peace through Strength, and an Economy that works for our Nation’s families.”

“I need him in the Florida Senate, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” the former president said.

District 19 is currently held by state Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Melbourne. Mayfield will be termed out of the seat at the end of 2024.

Fine currently faces two Republicans in the primary, and one Democrat as filed for the seat as well.

Fine expressed his confidence in winning the seat during an interview with Florida’s Voice. He explained how he had significantly more funding and resources that made it virtually impossible for the other challengers to compete.
