PALM BAY, Fla. – Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson endorsed Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, for his Florida Senate campaign Monday.

Fine is seeking to represent District 19 in Brevard County. Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Melbourne, currently represents the seat, but will be termed out.

“Randy Fine has stood up for hard working Floridians and fought for the conservative policies that have made Florida the envy of the nation,” Simpson said.

“I’m proud to endorse Randy Fine for the Florida Senate because he is a proven leader and an important voice in Tallahassee that will benefit Florida’s families, businesses and farmers,” he said.

Fine said he is “lucky” to have Simpson’s support, describing the commissioner as one whose “entrepreneurial life embodies the American Dream.”

“Our Farmers could have no better friend, and I look forward to continuing to fight shoulder to shoulder to protect consumers and those who do the hard work of growing our food,” Fine said.

The state representative recently notched a massive endorsement, gaining the support of former President Donald Trump in his State Senate bid.

“Florida State Rep. Randy Fine is a MAGA Warrior who will stand up to anyone to advance the America First agenda!” Trump said. “One of our only elected Jewish Republicans, he stands with me for an America that brings Peace through Strength, and an Economy that works for our Nation’s families.”

“I need him in the Florida Senate, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” the former president said.

Fine has a campaign war chest of over $1.5 million as of early-February for his Senate election, which has multiple other declared Republican candidates vying for the office.

Those Republicans include Robyn Hattaway and Charles Sheridan, per the Florida Division of Elections.

The only Democrat running for District 19 so far is Vance Ahrens.

On top of the endorsements of Trump and Simpson, Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis announced his support for Fine this month.

The primary election for Florida Senate seats will take place Aug. 20.

Fine previously received endorsements from Brevard School Board’s conservative majority, Chairwoman Megan Wright and board members Matt Susin and Gene Trent.

Reps. Thad Altman, R-Indialantic, Chase Tramont, R-Port Orange, and Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona, have endorsed Fine.

He also received endorsements from Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice and former Commissioner Tom Weinberg, Former Republican Party of Florida Chairman, Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, and former Senate President Mike Haridopolos.

The International Union of Police Associations and Florida Family Action have also given early endorsements.
