Rep. Steube to start as pitcher for Republican baseball team after previous accident
WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., announced Tuesday that he would be starting as the Republican congressional baseball team’s pitcher despite being hospitalized in January after falling 25 feet from a ladder.
In late January, the congressman spent a night in the ICU and suffered “serious injuries” after falling approximately 25 feet while cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property.
In a recent interview with Newsmax, the congressman said that he feels great and is “100% healed.”
He also highlighted how practicing for the upcoming congressional baseball game has helped in his recovery process.
“This has actually been a motivation for me, to try to get out here and this has actually helped my rehab to come out here and workout every day,” Steube said.

The congressman recently came out in support of former President Donald Trump’s 2024 candidacy for his party’s nomination.
“He’s widely supported in my district, widely supported in Florida. And I’m honored to add my endorsement to the long list of endorsements for President Trump here.”
