Sydney Gruters appointed to New College of Florida Foundation
SARASOTA, Fla. (FLV) – New College of Florida announced Sydney Gruters will be joining the New College of Florida Foundation as its new Executive Director and Vice President for Advancement.
Gruters most recently worked for Rep. Greg Steube, R-FL, as his district director, since he was first elected to Congress in 2018.
“We are very excited to be able to attract professionals like Sydney Gruters to the New College of Florida Foundation. Sydney’s deep roots in the area, as well as her reach across the state and the nation, will help propel the foundation to greatness,” said New College Interim President Richard Corcoran.
Corcoran said Gruters will begin building up the fundraising operation for the foundation, focusing on those who have supported the college in the past and recruiting new donors who support their mission and vision for the future, according to a press release.
“We are ready for Sydney to join the organization and welcome her to our growing and dedicated team of talented professionals,” Corcoran said.
Gruters was appointed by former President Donald Trump in 2017 to serve in his administration as the state director for Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands within the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development.
For more than 10 years, Gruters worked in Washington, D.C., and Sarasota for Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-FL, in both official and political capacities.
Gruters earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and lives in Sarasota with her husband, Joe, and three children.
