TAMPA (FLV) – The National Coalition of Frontline Workers endorsed Gov. Ron DeSantis at a campaign event Saturday.

“I am honored to stand with our Florida members of law enforcement, fire rescue, and healthcare workers across the state, who unanimously voted for our organization’s endorsement to re-elect Governor Ron DeSantis, the one who has our backs to ensure the safety, longevity and well-being for all Frontline Workers,” said National Coalition of Frontline Workers President Rick Sterl.

DeSantis spoke to a crowd of health care providers, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, emergency medical services and veterans.

“Thanks to our frontline workers, Florida’s communities are ranked among the safest in the nation. They put their lives on the line to protect our people day in and day out,” DeSantis said. “Frontline workers represent the best of Florida’s spirit. Following Hurricane Ian, they have tirelessly worked to save lives, restore communities, and get our state back on its feet. Florida has their back, and I am grateful for their support.”

The National Coalition of Frontline Workers’ website said the fight against COVID-19 lockdowns, quarantines, and coerced masking and vaccine mandates unified the group.

“Lessons learned during this formative period will inform our efforts to organize broadly across disciplines as we expand our focus from the issue that brought us together – and build our unified frontline to address a broad range of issues affecting frontline workers across our nation,” the website said.
