WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – Off the heels of winning CPAC 2023’s straw poll for the 2024 GOP nomination, former President Donald Trump declared he intends to “obliterate” the deep state if elected.

“I will totally obliterate the deep state,” he said to thunderous applause and “USA” chants.

“I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system like it has never been weaponized before,” he said. “I will put the people back in charge of this country again.”

Trump blasted President Joe Biden’s White House as the “most corrupt administration in American history.”

“Hunter Biden is a criminal and nothing happened to him,” he said. “Joe Biden is a criminal and nothing ever seems to happen to him.”

“You know – say what you want – but the Democrats stick together.”

Results from the straw poll taken among attendees found that Trump had 62% support. Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was not at the conference and has not formally announced a run for president, drew 20%.

Trump also took shots a members of his own party, described as the “establishment” and “Bush”- or “Paul Ryan”-type Republicans, which he said the GOP will never return to.

“Even some in our own party – I wonder who that might be – that want to raise the minimum age of Social Security to 70, 75, and even 80 in some cases,” he said. “When that was their original thought – that’s what they always come back to.”

“We are never going back to a party that wants to give unlimited money to fight foreign wars that are endless wars… that are stupid wars,” Trump said.

The former president said that benefits must not be cut and veterans must not be left to “live on the streets of our cities.”

Trump discussed his efforts to prevent the U.S. from entering any new wars, and said under his watch, World War 3 would be avoided.

“I’m the only candidate who can make this promise: I will prevent, and very easily, World War 3,” he said. “You’re gonna have World War 3 if something doesn’t happen fast.”

The former president said Republicans must utilize existing election laws, even if they allow mail-in voting or ballot harvesting, to defeat Democrats.
