Carole Jean Jordan backs Peter Feaman for Republican Party of Florida chair
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. – Tax Collector of Indian River County Carole Jean Jordan endorsed Peter Feaman for Republican Party of Florida chairman Tuesday.
Jordan served the Republican Party of Florida’s national committeewoman for 12 years and chairwoman for two terms.
In a letter obtained by Florida’s Voice, Jordan said she has known Feaman for 20 years.
“There is not a better, more qualified individual than Peter Feaman to serve as our Party Chairman,” she said.
The party is expected to vote for to remove Chairman Christian Ziegler on Jan 8. during a special meeting. It is also expected to vote on Ziegler’s membership status.
Ziegler has faced calls to resign after it came to light that he is involved in a sexual assault investigation.
Ziegler believes he will be exonerated once the police investigation is complete. However, Florida leaders, including Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida House and Senate leadership, have called for Ziegler to resign.
Vice Chairman Evan Power is also running for the seat.
Feaman recently received an endorsement from over 30 Republican Party of Florida members.
He also announced an endorsement from Republican Party of California National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon in December.
Power has received multiple endorsements following his announcement to run for chair including, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson.
