DeSantis Continues to Outpace Crist in Fundraising

TALLAHASSE (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis raised nearly 3 million dollars in fundraising more than Democrat nominee for governor Charlie Crist from Aug. 27 to Sept. 23.

According to campaign finance records, DeSantis has raised $2,954,436 more than Crist since Aug. 27 – with a total War Chest (cash on hand) lead of $106,682,493.

The following is a summary of funds raised from Aug. 27 – Sept. 23:

  • Charlie Crist: $3,748,088
  • Friends of Charlie Crist $2,969,347
  • Total: $6,717,435
  • Ron DeSantis: $3,795,832
  • Friends of Ron DeSantis $5,876,040
  • Total: $9,671,872

War chest:

  • Charlie Crist: $3,577,460
  • Ron DeSantis: $110,259,954

It was previously reported that DeSantis surpassed the gubernatorial fundraising record in September.

According to recent polls, the Republican is continuing to expand his lead over Democrat Charlie Crist.

One poll, aggregated by RealClearPolitics out of USA Today/Suffolk, gives DeSantis a hefty 7-point lead over the Democrat challenger, 47.8%-41%. The partisan breakdown is 37D-37R-21NPA and the poll was conducted among 500 likely voters from Sep. 15-18.

The same poll gives Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio a smaller 4-point lead over Democrat U.S. Rep. Val Demings.

Another poll, released by Civiqs, gives both Republicans a lead over their Democrat opponents, but Rubio with a smaller one.

In the Civiqs poll, DeSantis also holds a 7% lead over Crist: 52%-45%. It gives the Florida governor a 51% favorability rating to Crist’s 37%. Rubio holds a narrower 2-point lead over Demings: 49%-47%. It was conducted among 617 likely voters from Sep. 17-20.

DeSantis and Crist will face off in the Nov. 8 election.
