WASHINGTON, D.C (FLV) – Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., expressed her support for fellow Florida Republican Rep. Byron Donalds as being former President Donald Trump’s potential pick for vice president.

Luna tweeted that Donalds “would make an incredible VP.”

“I have seen Byron under pressure, in negotiations, and in action both behind the scenes and [in] front of cameras,” Luna said. “He has an incredible finance background and personal story. He’s the winning ticket.”

Donalds previously expressed a willingness to accept the role, if offered by the former president.

“If it came up? Oh yeah, of course, because you have the opportunity to do really powerful things for the country and really help shape the country,” Donalds said.

“But I’m a member of Congress. I just do my job. I let everybody else speculate on the other stuff.”

At a recent Turning Point USA conference, the Florida congressman placed second behind Kari Lake with 24% support in a poll gauging respondent’s preference for the party’s vice presidential nominee.

Donalds has long supported Trump and endorsed the former president’s election bid in early April.

Trump and Donalds recently appeared together in Philadelphia as Trump continues to lead national and many state-level polls in the Republican primary.

The two men were spotted at a cheesesteak restaurant among a massive crowd of the former president’s supporters.

In April, Trump made an appearance in Donalds’ district alongside the congressman at a local pizza restaurant.
