WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is praising the Supreme Court for keeping a Trump-era border policy in place – for now.

On Dec. 27, SCOTUS issued a ruling halting the termination of Title 42, which allows the U.S. to quickly expel migrants at the border, put in place in March 2020 because of COVID-19.

Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily prevented the Biden Administration from terminating the policy earlier in December.

Moody has long railed against President Joe Biden for the influx of migrants and drugs – name fentanyl – across the border with Mexico. She warned “pandemonium” would ensue if Title 42 expired.

“Through litigation, over the last two years since Biden took office, I have uncovered so much evidence that shows this administration has purposefully dismantled our public safety immigration structures at the border,” said Moody.

“First they stopped deporting people, they do away with ‘remain in Mexico,’ they purposefully decrease the detention capabilities at the border and then throw up their hands and say ‘we have to release every one because we have not enough detention capabilities’ and which is, by the way, in direct violation of federal law.”

Moody said she was “pleased” to see Title 42 remain in place for the next couple months and described it as the “only thing preventing the dire situation at the border from getting even worse.”

“However, we would not be so dependent on Title 42 if @JoeBiden would do his job, enforce the law, and take control of the border,” she went on.

The attorney general has battled the Biden Administration on border policy for months. In late April 2022, Moody celebrated an earlier federal ruling delaying the rescinding of Title 42. The Biden Administration had planned to lift the order May 23rd.

“People across the political spectrum agree that ending Title 42 will be disastrous. I am thrilled the court is siding with the states and preventing thousands of unvetted migrants from entering the U.S,” Moody said.
