TAMPA, Fla. – President Joe Biden arrived in Tampa this week for a campaign rally with a focus on women’s reproductive freedoms.

“Don’t mess with women in America,” said Biden, referring to Florida’s six week abortion ban which takes effect on May first.

Biden encouraged voters to show up and vote for the ballot amendment on abortion this November.

Gov. Ron DeSantis reacted to Biden’s visit even before he arrived.

“All I can tell you is Floridians are not buying what Joe Biden is selling and in November we will send him back to Delaware, where he belongs,” said DeSantis following a press conference on expanding the state’s wildlife corridor and investing in red tide research.

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power posted on his X account with a message to the president urging him to “learn a few things visiting Florida.”

Joining Biden was Debbie Murcasel-Powell, who is running against Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott on November’s ballot.

Scott reacted to the president’s visit with a statement that read in part, “We hope Joe Biden considers Florida when he’s retired in November.”
