Rick Scott calls on Biden to ‘stop the aid’ to Gaza amid violence against Jews

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott called on President Joe Biden to “stop the aid” to Gaza, ruled by terrorist organization Hamas, amid ongoing violence and calls for violence against Jews.

Hamas attacked Israel earlier this month, resulting in an outbreak of war, Israel defending itself against brutal attacks.

Biden announced $100 million in “humanitarian” aid for Gaza and the West Bank.

The two major authorities in the region include Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, which Scott derided for not being “moderate” as typically described amid a new report of the body calling for violence against Jews.

“The illegitimate, Iran-backed Palestinian Authority doesn’t seek peace & stability,” Scott said. “It wants to destroy Israel & the Jewish people.”

“The U.S. can’t give aid to those who harbor terrorists & call for murdering Jews. Where are the hostages?! Stop the aid NOW!” he said.

Scott has been outspoken on the war between Israel and Hamas. He recently demanded Biden convene the G7 countries to sanction Iran for purportedly being behind the planning of some terror attacks on Israel.

Earlier in October, Scott touted his “Top Taxpayer Funding of Hamas Act” and urged national lawmakers pass it once the chambers meet for business.

The bill would bar taxpayer funds from going into “the territory of Gaza,” per Scott’s office, until the president certifies to a committee that the funds can be spent without benefiting any group or persons “who are members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or any other terrorist organization.”

It also cracks down on funds benefiting those who are “controlled or influenced by Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or any other terrorist organization.”

The $100 million in aid also drew criticism from Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling it a “gift to the Gaza Strip.”

“Joe Biden just announced $100 million of your taxpayer dollars going to the Gaza Strip,” DeSantis said. “They say it’s humanitarian assistance. We know Hamas is going to commandeer that money, and Hamas is going to use it to advance terrorism.”

“I say no U.S. tax dollars to the Gaza Strip. We still have hostages being held by Hamas,” he added.

The White House provided a statement on the resources that are being distributed to Gaza.

“This funding will help support over a million displaced and conflict-affected people with clean water, food, hygiene support, medical care, and other essential needs,” the statement said.

“The United States provides humanitarian assistance through trusted partners including UN agencies and international NGOs,” they added.
