WASHINGTON, D.C. – Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott scathed any calls for ceasefire between Israel and terrorist organization Hamas, calling such a proposal “insane and dangerous.”

Scott reacted to a video of a Hamas official saying they will repeat vicious terror attacks, akin to the one on Israeli civilians earlier in October, until Israel is totally defeated.

“This is why calls for a ceasefire are insane and dangerous,” Scott said. “Members of Hamas are terrorists who hate Israel. This disgusting terror threat must be destroyed.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied a ceasefire as Israel continues launching attacks on Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

On the war in Israel, Scott has urged the G7 countries to convene and enact sanctions on Iran for the October initial terrorist attack, which reportedly had the backing of Iran.

“We know that the Iranian regime is behind the brutal attacks on innocent civilians being carried out by terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Jihad,” Scott said in a letter. “The United States and our allies cannot ignore this reality for a second longer.”

Scott has also criticized the Biden administration over its unfreezing of $6 billion in assets for the Iranian regime in a US.-Iran prisoner swap in September.

The Florida senator additionally touted former President Donald Trump last weekend as having been the most “pro-Israel” U.S. president.

“The U.S. defeated ISIS, moved the U.S. embassy to its rightful home in Jerusalem and held vicious Iranian murders, like [Qasem] Soleimani, accountable for the American lives they had taken,” Scott said.
