FL First Lady Casey DeSantis is Cancer Free

TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has publicly announced that his wife, Casey DeSantis, is now cancer free.

Casey DeSantis’ diagnosis was announced in October. She finished chemotherapy treatments in late January.

“For all the women out there who are going through breast cancer right now – you can overcome this. I know it’s very difficult, but my wife is proof positive, and this is the exact type of news we had hoped for,” the governor said. 

“She still has more to do, but I’m confident she’s going to make a full recovery. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers”

While under treatment, Casey DeSantis launched the Resiliency Florida initiative which is a partnership with professional sports teams and athletes including Tom Brady, David Beckham, and Peyton Manning to address stigma surrounding mental health this past February. Their goal is to help empower Florida students to persevere through adversity.

Florida’s First Lady continued working while undergoing treatment and DeSantis thanked Americans who supported her.
