CONCORD, N.H. – Latest polling indicates a single digit finish for Gov. Ron DeSantis in New Hampshire on the Tuesday, Jan. 23 Republican presidential primary.

According to RealClearPolling‘s average of four polls since Jan. 4, former President Donald Trump has over 44% support and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has just over 30%. That margin hands Trump a 13% victory.

Further down, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was third at 11%, but has dropped out.

The aggregate paints a worrying picture for DeSantis at fourth place, behind but statistically tied in businessman Vivek Ramaswamy at about 6%. Ramaswamy, though, dropped out and endorsed Trump after the Iowa caucus.

The latest post-Iowa poll from Boston Globe/Suffolk handed DeSantis a 5% level of support.

The governor overperformed polling in Iowa by around 6%. Should that trend continue, the governor could place third in the low double digits, as opposed to the predicted 5%-6%.

FiveThirtyEight‘s aggregate paints a similar picture, placing Trump at close to 44%, Haley at around 30% and DeSantis near 5%.

Haley notably has the endorsement of New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, who has been campaigning for her.

DeSantis finished second in Iowa above 20%, higher than predicted, in his strongest state. New Hampshire is supposed to be Haley’s best-performing state according to current available data.

The governor said after Iowa he isn’t dropping out any time soon.

“We’ve got our ticket punched out of Iowa,” the governor said this week.

“I am gonna get the job done for this country,” he said. “I am not gonna make any excuses […] I will not let you down.”

The governor and his team previously starkly denied any allegation he intends to drop out if he loses to Trump in Iowa.

DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin shot down the rumor, saying “Team Trump must be getting nervous” and characterizing it as “fake news.”
