WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., attacked CNN for “glorifying” Hamas terrorists and the group’s holding of Israeli hostages.

“CNN glorifying the conditions that Iran-backed Hamas terrorists are holding innocent people hostage […] including children, the elderly and Americans, is disgusting,” Scott said.

CNN’s Erin Burnett spoke from Tel Aviv, Israel about how the tunnels where Hamas was keeping the hostages had ventilation, air conditioning, shampoo, antibiotics and medics on scene.

She explained how there was a significant “level of preparation” that went into the taking and holding of hostages.

The Biden administration is seeking $105 billion in foreign aid relief for Ukraine and Israel, a spending package that several Republicans have become hesitant to support.

“Hamas and Putin represent different threats, but they share this in common: They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy — completely annihilate it,” Biden said during an address.

Scott said in a press release that the Senate “needs to vote on aid for Israel now – by itself.”

“Everyone in Washington knows that what the president has proposed will never pass in the House,” he said.

“It is unserious and needs to be discarded and moved on from. Americans should be disgusted that President Biden and Washington’s ruling class continue to use crisis after crisis to push massive spending packages for issues that have no business being voted on together,” he added.

Scott also mentioned how there is “overwhelming bipartisan” support for Israel funding and the same can not be said for Ukraine.

“Needlessly delaying this action in search of some doomed grand bargain only hurts the United States, our ally Israel and the urgent mission to rescue the Americans being held hostage in Gaza by Iran-backed Hamas,” Scott finished.
