WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (FLV) – Former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden’s planned shipments of cluster bombs to Ukraine, in a statement released on Tuesday.

As part of a new $800 million military aid package, the Pentagon is set to dispatch thousands of cluster munitions, Bradley and Stryker armored vehicles, along with a variety of ammunition, including rounds for howitzers and the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System or HIMARS.

Cluster munitions are weapons designed to deploy submunitions, commonly known as “bomblets,” upon air release. These bomblets disperse over a wide area with the aim of causing extensive damage to multiple targets simultaneously.

Trump, vehemently opposed to funding the Ukraine war, called the administration’s move “insanity.”

“Joe Biden should not be dragging us further toward World War III by sending cluster munitions to Ukraine,” Trump said in the statement. “We must stop this insanity, immediately end the bloodshed in Ukraine, and return to a focus on America’s vital interests.”

Trump also insinuated that the U.S. may be running low on ammunition and demanded a cease to weapon shipments to Ukraine.

“We should not be sending our last stockpiles at a time when our own arsenals, according to Crooked Joe Biden, are so perilously diminished,” Trump added.

Trump is set to address a Turning Point Action conference over the weekend where he will be joined by other prominent GOP figures.
