MIAMI (FLV) – Karla Hernandez-Mats, Democrat candidate for governor Charlie Crist’s reported running mate, Tweeted in 2016 after the death of brutalist dictator Fidel Castro that “many in Cuba mourn” his passing.

“A political figure dies at 90. Most in Miami rejoice, many in Cuba mourn #FidelCastro,” she said on Nov. 26, 2016.

Castro died at age 90 on Nov. 25, 2016. He was a Cuban revolutionary and avidly communist in his leading of the country. He lead the country from 1959 to 2008.

Some human rights abuses under Castro’s regime on Cuban citizens include the deaths of those trying to flee the communist regime that took control in the mid 20th century, ordering the deaths of potentially thousands of Cubans, execution of minors, the persecution of Catholics, and his infamous firing squads.

Crist’s reported running mate has also been documented depicting parents concerned about COVID-19 restrictions as armed monsters and is seen allegedly grabbing and shoving a videographer.

In the video, Mats is approached by a man asking her questions.

“Are you Karla Mats? Are you Karla Mats? This lady needs to be fired,” he says before Mats quickly buts in, swipes at his hand, and pushes him back: “Bro, who the h*** are you?!”

Hernandez-Mats is the president of United Teachers of Dade, which is a teachers union in Miami. She Tweeted a picture of various famous horror characters in costumes with chainsaws and blades saying they are “going to a school board meeting.”

“For any of you following the school board meetings, you know that the craziness is real,” Mats said on Twitter of teachers. “God be with us.”
